Currently only a few details have been released about the kind of Gameplay you can expect in Battlefield 1943. So we'll be updating as we get some more hands on time with the game!
- Currently known about the battlefield 1943 Gameplay -
As you've probably come to expect from the Battlefield series. Gameplay will be devided by infantry and vehicle based combat as usual.
Currently no news have been given if we'll be seeing the same capture and hold type of gameplay we know from previous Battlefield games.
What is known is that the gameplay is much more casual than people might expect from a Battlefield game. Classes have been made a bit more generic. Medics are gone from the game and the game no longer uses a health bar. Instead a system similar to the one used in most modern shooters is used; you have a set amount of health and this autmaticaly replenishes itself when you're not being hit.
Ammunition replenishes itself much in the same way. With a set number of bullets being restored each "tick". While this might remove some forms of strategy it also adds a new layer of depth and makes the combat faster paced. If this works properly in a Battlefield game remains to be seen.
We'll be seeing the familiar return of vehicle based combat as well. With a variety of armored, transportation and flying vehicles at your disposal you'll be free to wreak havoc around the Battlefield. Wether it's frantic dogfighting with an enemy plane or blowing buildings apart with explosive shells, you'll be blasting away in no time at all!
- Hmm blow up buildings you say? -
That's right! Since Battlefield 1943 is build upon the Frostbite engine (the same engine that powered Battlefield: Bad Company) you'll be able to blow up buildings trees, cover and who knows what else!
The developers have already confirmed that 1943 will take the destruction you can afflict to buildings even further. Good times indeed!
