Battlefield 1943 is essentially a remake of the highly acclaimed game Battlefield 1942. The game runs on the same engine as Battlefield Bad Company (The Frostbite engine). This means you'll get some of the same awesome features you got from that game. Expect fully destructible buildings, big explosions and a screen quality far superior over 1942.
Battlefield 1943 will be a download only game for PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Initial price inidcations are around 20-30 Euro for the game.
- Gameplay -
From what we know so far Battlefield 1943 will be a bit more "mainstream" than previous titles. Gameplay is more casual. With less specified classes and no point based health system. Instead health will regenerate the same way it does in the Call of Duty series. Other than that the original Battlefield feeling remains. You'll have vehicles at your disposal and you'll have to capture and hold point on the map to score points. The first team to run out of reinforcementes loses the match.

Currently the game is scheduled for a summer 2009 release date. Initially the game will ship with 3 different maps. No info has been given about extra maps and/or possible support for modifications.
